Rosemount Estate Balmoral Syrah 2001
Wine SpectatorRipe, with a dried cherry note prominent among the blackberry and licorice flavors. Has real stature. Tannins have a light grip. Best from 2008 through 2011. 4,000 cases imported.
Wine EnthusiastSmells of black soot and barbecue spice. Fruit the palate is a liqueurish blackberry, but there is also loads of chunky wood framing it. The combination is a burly one, but aging it might see the fruit fade before the oak. Drink now with a big, rich stew or like foods.
