Alamos Red Blend 2018
I found plenty of aromas from Cabernet Sauvignon in the 2018 Red Blend, even if it's only 30% of the blend; 20% Bonarda and 50% Malbec make up the rest. The wine has clean aromas, it's fruit-driven and aromatic, attractive and with impeccable balance. This is polished and very drinkable. 450,000 bottles produced.
Good red-ruby. Dark berries complicated by chocolate and licorice on the nose. A bit more laid-back and complex than the Cabernet, showing modest texture but more refinement to its dark fruit and spice flavors. A touch of fruit sweetness is nicely countered by juicy acidity. Finishes with slightly dusty tannins, a touch of greenness and modest definition and lift.
