Wine AdvocateThe 2017 Rosé Padeiro Dom Diogo comes in at 12% alcohol, 11.8 grams of residual sugar and with added carbonation. It's fizzy, in other words. Tasted only about six weeks after bottling, this still seemed to be in pretty good form. Given the acidity that this usually produces, the freshness counters the fairly big hit of sugar pretty well. This still has a slightly sweet edge in its youth. That may well blow off as it acquires a little more bottle age. At the moment, it is chock-full of red-fruit flavors and pretty delicious. Drink it as young as possible and nicely chilled (but not freezing!). It has nowhere to go but down if you hold it.
