Cantine Catena Aglianico 2016
Ranked the #12 Red Wine in our Sept. 23, 2017 "Big Taste" of The Vineyard Wine Tasting Event.
Color: Brilliant, intense, deep, light cherry color. Very strong structure ideal for long time aging. Bouquet: The principal feature of this wine is sensory complexity, a complex wine and multifaced. Beside the very high alcohol content, we can easily find a spectacular aromas of red fruits, wild berries, raspberry, cherry, liquorice and pepper. As we said, the aromatique bouquet is far more complex, ranging from cloves and vanilla, untill a smell of berry jam and cinnamon. Palate: this wine shows a strong personality, good acidity and high astringency is his hallmark. This is not a wine easy to forget and it needs appropriate culinary combination. Aroma: such as the fragrance, the aroma is very complex. You will immediately notice a slight hint of wood from aging in new oak barriques. Hints of red fruits, dried fruits, liquorice, vanilla, cinnamon and pleasant spicy taste on the finish. Serving temperature: Room temperature. Food Pairings: Excellent with soups, meat dishes, red meats, fresh and mature cheeses.
