Youthful aromas of cherry, wild strawberry, pomegranate, and raspberry are abundant along with the classic Santa Cruz Mountains soil. This Pinot has medium weight on the palate with a beautiful, slightly firm texture and solid mid-palate fruit. With proper cellaring, this vintage should gain in complexity and hedonism for the next 6-7 years and continue to hold for another decade.

Wine EnthusiastSour cranberry juice aromas mix with wet slate, strawberry soda, black olives and charred beets on this bottling from historic Mount Eden's more affordable series. It's crisp and clean once sipped, with ripe cranberry fruit picking up oregano and marjoram herbs and a nice tartness on the back end.

Wine AdvocateA juicy, spice-filled Pinot Noir that has a lot of charm, the 2012 Pinot Noir Domaine Eden reveals a medium ruby color to go with upfront notes of mulled cherries, charred herbs and toasted spice. Medium-bodied, supple, nicely textured and with plenty of fruit, it's a juicy, nicely made effort to drink over the coming 5-6 years.

Wine SpectatorIntense, with a dusty savory edge to the dried berry, anise, cedar, loamy earth and crushed rock nuances. Ends with firm, gritty tannins. This wine begs for some cellar time. Drink now through 2024. 1,828 cases made.
