Castello di Cacchiano Chianti Classico 2011
|Brand||Castello di Cacchiano|
Wine EnthusiastAromas suggesting underbrush, charred earth, toast and mature plum lead the nose. The forward, full-bodied palate offers dried black cherry, licorice and a hint of tobacco alongside polished tannins. It's already accessible so enjoy over the next few years.
Wine AdvocateCastello di Cacchiano's 2011 Chianti Classico is a bit nervous and sharp in places with tight aromas of wild berry and bitter almond. In contrast to the streamlined austerity you get on the nose, this wine presents slightly sweet tones in the mouth with soft tannins and ripe fruit flavors. The softness of the mouthfeel tends to give the wine a better sense of balance. This estate is located in the southern part of the appellation in Gaiole-in-Chianti. This wine is comprised of 95% Sangiovese with tiny parts Canaiolo, Malvasia Nera and Colorino.
