Cims de Porrera

"Classic" captures the essence of a truly exceptional Priorat wine. Only made in select vintages, this wine is produced from the best old-vine Carinena. With a deep ruby hue, this wine is rich and very concentrated with notes of blackberry jam, Bing cherry, licorice and minerals, polished with new oak tannins.

Wine Advocate

The 2001 Classic is a blend of 85% Carignan (from 60-100 year old vines) and 15% Grenache. Notes of bay leaves, thyme, spice box, graphite, black currants, and cherries are present in this vibrant, cooler climate-styled Priorat. With medium to full body, excellent density, and firm tannin, it should be at its apogee between 2007-2014. It is a stunning wine.

Score: 94. —Robert Parker, April 2004.

Wine Enthusiast

A beauty that represents Priorat in its most complete form. Meaty and savage at first, Cims is a terroir wine of the first order. Still, it's polished, with a soft, smooth texture and impressive cherry, cola, spice and vanilla flavors. Coffee and mocha on the finish seal the deal. Made by Sara Pérez of Mas Martinet. Imported by Multiple Importers.

Score: 94. —Michael Schachner, October 01, 2005.

Wine Spectator

Ripe, almost roasted, with black cherry, wild herb, licorice and black pepper notes. Has rich, round tannins and good concentration, but remains balanced and generous, with a spicy finish. Best after 2004.

Score: 91. —Thomas Matthews, November 15, 2003.
